End of the Year

An early Happy New Year to everyone. I hope that everybody had a lovely Christmas, and that the circumstances have not caused too much sadness. Yesterday, you will have received a letter from Mrs Noake confirming the opening of school on the 4th January. We will again be in our little bubble, and doing everything that we can to provide a safe learning environment. Just in case anybody missed the email, here are the main points:

1. Please try to stick to the staggered times for the start and end of the school day. (Breakfast Club will continue as usual - and will be the only club offered this term).

2. Adults should wear a face mask when on the premises and ideally at the school gate (in order to reduce the risk of transmission, especially taking into consideration the new variant of the virus)

3. Social distancing of 2m between adults should be adhered to.

4. All areas of the school should be well ventilated. I'm afraid this will mean opening windows and restricting the use of fan heaters/air conditioning units. When possible, the heating will be turned up when the children are out of the classroom, ie at breaktime and lunchtime. Please ensure that the children wear plenty of warm clothing - lots of layers!

5. Could I remind parents that if they wish to speak to any of the teaching staff they try to do so by telephone, rather than trying to have long conversations face-to-face. There will always be a member of staff on the school gates who will be willing to take short messages at the beginning and end of the school day.

6. Lastly, but probably most importantly, please do not send your child to school if you think they are showing symptoms of Covid 19 and please take them to be tested. Please let's all 'err on the side of caution' and try and keep everyone in our small community as safe as possible.

See you in 2021,

Mr Mclean
